Cataloging area at the Seattle Public School Archives
I have experience doing copy cataloging using Millenium and OCLC at the University of Washington Libraries and the Jefferson County Public Library, and also experience doing original cataloging in various specialty libraries using Access and PastPerfect. This was excellent experience in cataloging published items, but I have also worked to provide catalog entries for processed archival collections. While I believe that the most important aspect of archival processing for providing public access is the creation of a detailed finding aid, cataloging processed collections is also an important element of making these collections findable in an online research environment. Here is a sample of some of the material I cataloged during my time at the Seattle Public Schools Archive:
